June 29, 2016 – John 4:10

John4-10She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?” Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” John 4:10The gift from God, Jesus Christ, gives us the gifts of Living Water, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the gift of Eternal Life.  It doesn’t matter what our race, our language or color — God’s Gift of Jesus is for all.God blesses those who are humble,  for they will inherit the whole earth.  God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.  God blesses those who are merciful,  for they will be shown mercy.  Matthew 5:5-7.Have you ever been so thirsty you fall to your knees in search for a drop of water to quench your thirst?  This is the picture of our struggle to quench the inner thirst and hunger in our souls. It is a choice to believe in God and His Son, Jesus.  A.W. Tozer says, The fact that man falls is not the most important thing, bu rather that he has been forgiven and allows God to lift him up.When we come to the climax of a song, or a story, we see the composer/author wants to leave the best, the most important sound or message for the end.  Jesus did the same at the climax of the festival.  “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!  Anyone who believes in me may come and drink!”Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”  John 14:6-7.  May you find peace this day in The Way, the Truth and the Life — Jesus!!!On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'” John 7:37-38
