He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse
or in human might.
No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him,
those who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Psalm 147:10-11
What do you see when you see clouds? I see God striding about in the clouds watching his children like a Shepherd watches his sheep, guiding and leading them to nourishment. As the verse ends, His unfailing love is our hope.
I see the king of glory, Coming on the clouds with fireThe whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes.Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest. (Hillsong)
This is the same hope Mom saw as she wrote of her 85th year: I know the sun beams behind the clouds that veil my present sky. I look forward with joy into the year of 1992.Mom was a realistic optimist. She saw a hole in the flour sack she was making into a dress and saw an opportunity for a pocket. I am just an optimist, I see a broken glass and see the reflection of lights in the shards. No matter what is, in life, I see God’s loving Hand. The pathway may lead through hurting mine fields of death and illness, yet I trust in my Lord’s leading. Praise and Hope go together. And in Hope is that Joy of the Lord that gives us His Strength to grow to be Christ-like in this life.We have the ability to bring our Lord delight! Dear Lord, please help me to hope in You, and not in earthly things. Help me to walk on this earth with You. You are all I need. You nourish me with everlasting hope and faith and love. Praise the Lord!
