July 28, 2016 – Romans 8:38-39

Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not death, life, angels, or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us or nothing below us—nothing in the whole created world—will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 8:38-39In this world where nothing stays the same, we need a sure thing.  We may lose everything we own, we may be moved away from friends, we may feel alone, but the sure thing we find in Jesus Christ stays the same – even when time is no more.When we love Jesus more than anything, He becomes our best friend, and we visit with Him as a friend.  He is our constant ‘go-to’ friend.  He helps us know how to choose the right thing to do in life.  He watches over us when we sleep.  He quenches our thirst for righteousness with living water.  He satisfies us when we hunger for Him.  He protects us from the bad things in life.We were made to praise Jesus, find joy in Him, and to live for Him alone.  We become in Jesus, as his brother – and will inherit all Jesus inherits from God.  Once we have Jesus, we have no need for any other way to God.  For Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  In Jesus alone, we can trust for peace and joy and love.Jesus is The Sure Thing in our lives! Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6Once we become one in Christ Jesus, we are in the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is in us.   Romans 8:10
