February 28, 2020 – Psalm 16:5-7
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. Psalm 16:5-7.
These middle verse from Psalm 16:5-7, “The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places,” I found in Mother’s Book of her family’s story, “The Lines are Fallen!” Her parents gave her a beautiful heritage of Faith in God. It took awhile for me to see how, Mom, Anna Daisy Siemens, instilled the same faith in our Lord in me.
Inheritance is first a spiritual value, and not monetary. Those childhood years, we observe, as children, our parents’ response to life buried deeply in our hearts. Then we choose to live with faith in our Lord both day and night.
It is what we think about, dwell on, it is who we are. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! Psalm 40:4. Who will I follow? The One who makes me know the path of life. This is where I find the path of life and joy is full. Our Lord is steadfast and unchangeable. He loves us with an everlasting life.
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:3, 6.
I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence, there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:8, 11.
