February 22, 2019 – John 17:2-3
For You have given Him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given Him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One you sent to earth. John 17:2-3.
There is nothing sweeter to the ear, than musicians playing in harmony. If one of the group hits a wrong chord, or plays in a different key, harmony is broken.
Our world drifts into dissonance, moment by moment. What can draw us together as one? Father God and His Son Jesus Christ were in tune with each other. Their purpose and love were as one. Father God knew His Son spoke for Him and sent Jesus to earth to deliver His Father’s Message.
How can we have this same Oneness with members of our family and with the Body of Christ, the Church? Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:13-15.
Love, Forgive, let peace rule our hearts and always be thankful. John 17:20-21a gives us the purpose of sending Jesus to earth. “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in Me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.”
I brought glory to You here on earth by completing the work You gave me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began. John 17:4-5.
