December 4, 2015 – Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah9.6(2)For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6Isaiah, who was he, to write such words?  He is called the Prophet of Salvation. The name Isaiah means “the salvation of the Lord” or “the Lord is salvation.”  His ministry was over 55 years long to Judah and Jerusalem.  His prophecies were the near and distant future of the Jewish people – even extending to the second coming of Christ.  His message centered on salvation comes from God, not man.  He wrote between 740 – 680 B.C. (http://christianity.about.com/)Knowing this about Isaiah, these words of the coming of Jesus is unparalleled in beauty and promise of the passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is more compelling. The government and its peace of Jesus will never end.  He rules with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity.  Both David and Isaiah were men after God’s own heart and walked with God.The assurance in Isaiah’s life and and his example is that of a child, trusting and walking with the Father in Heaven.  He knew the coming of Jesus to this world as a tiny babe, with titles already bestowed upon Him.  Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

“For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain. Isaiah 66:22.  The new Heavens and the new earth ->“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be… Isaiah 65:17.  And so shall your offspring->….Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes when his soul makes an offering for guilt,he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Isaiah 53:10.

His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen! Isaiah 9:7
