December 17, 2015 – Psalm 85:10-11

Psalm85-10-11Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. Psalm 85:10-11Long ago, Mom and Dad visited the Old Faithful Geyser.  A stream of water that shoots up straight into the sky.  We are like that geyser when we believe and trust in Jesus.  Our faithfulness springs up to our God.Being good (righteousness) kisses peace.  Without being good, there is no peace.  What is peace?  It is being able know the way you are acting pleases your parents.  When you don’t have to keep secrets.Where does that righteousness come from?  Have you heard someone say, God is good–all the time?  That is what it means…righteousness comes from the sky – from God!  The only way we can be good at least part of the time is to try to do what is right.  Be devoted to God, study verses, like the last ones.  Have faith, love, patience and gentleness, these qualities can only come through the Holy Spirit.  The way oranges grow on an orange tree, faith, love, patience and gentleness grows in us when we invite the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts.Take hold of eternal life by confessing your faith in Jesus.  That begins a life long journey just as you are chosen to have along with eternal life.  The best of the best.  Even when we try, we aren’t always good.  That is when peace comes in, for it is knowing Jesus forgives each of us when we humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness.Always try to do what is right, to be devoted to God, and to have faith, love, patience, and gentleness. We have to fight to keep our faith. Try as hard as you can to win that fight. Take hold of eternal life. It is the life you were chosen to have when you confessed your faith in Jesus. I Timothy 6:11b-12a.
