August 24, 2016 – Proverbs 3:3

Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Proverbs 3:3How important is it to be loyal and kind?  Loyalty and kindness gives our life meaning and depth.  What we choose to be loyal to tells the depth and meaning of our loyalty and kindness.  What or Who will stand the test of deserving our loyalty and kindness?Everything in the world will pass away…only that which is eternal will always be there for us in the now and forever.  The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are forever.  Their very presence in our lives fills us with love.   The love that is unconditional, the love that is eternal and began before the world began.My childhood was filled with small failures and admonitions to try harder.  Yet God’s unconditional love was always there for me.  When I learned the verse, “I love Him because He first loved me.”  I didn’t realize that all God wants is for me to choose to love Him as He loved me before time began.The most difficult thing to learn on earth is loving others the way God loves us — unconditionally.  “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35Loyalty and kindness will bring us favor with people and with God.  There is no room in favor for anger, chaos, untruths or impatience.  Choosing to follow God and His Son and welcome them into our hearts is the beginning of living eternally with God in love, joy and peace.Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Proverbs 3:4
