April 26, 2015 – Isaiah 2:4

Isaiah2-4He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. Isaiah 2:4Do you remember singing, “He’s got the Whole World in His Hands”?  And on we sang, forgetting to let ourselves to be in God’s Hands.  When our part of the world is on the brink of a war or a collapse, we call out to God to fix it.  We forget that often we have allowed our trust to weaken along with our willingness to follow Him.  Our world slips out of His Hands because we have forgotten Him and His way.Greed and envy blind us to the way of peace through fully giving our hearts to Him.  Who hasn’t read that our enemies delight in burning homes and  fields of grain? We cry out for justice.  Justice is a two way street paved with golden bricks of love.  Justice is a pouring out of righteousness from the cross of Jesus Christ.  Justice is living the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:11).  Justice is Love your neighbor as yourself, the second great commandment. We desire living in secure dwellings and in quiet resting places.  What is the effect of righteousness?  Is it worth living in anger, distrust, personal rants and envy? And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. The lyrics written by William Cooper paint a glorious picture of the peace of God in our hearts. Peace, peace, wonderful peace, Coming down from the Father above! Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray In fathomless billows of love! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgfgVA15528Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field. And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.Isaiah 32:16-18
