April 15, 2016 – Psalm 31:19

Psalm31-19-Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! Psalm 31:19For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)  Ephesians 5:8-9 Goodness brings peace, for God is our refuge, our rock and salvation.  “Peace is thinking about God, thanking God and loving loving God.”  Tim Keller.  Peace is not the absence of war and hostility, it is peace for the soul in the midst of the battle.  A spiritual peace brings joy and love in the middle of turmoil.  One person I know,  fearing for her brother as he traveled across the country.  She gave the turmoil to God and and just as quickly a soft blanket of peace descended and wrapped her in His Love.  This peace has not left her, and her trust in God grew stronger and more real than ever before. When we let God BE God, we let Him be in control of our lives.  How do we do this?  Take our hands off the reins of our life and trust Him.  I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.  Psalm 16:8.This day, we will let the Lord our God lead and guide us through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. He waits for us to turn to Him!  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6.  Learn how great the abundance of His goodness is in your heart…  Amen and Amen!  Yes and Yes!

Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me.  Psalm 31:2-3
