January 26, 2017 – Proverbs 14:26-27

Those who fear the Lord are secure; he will be a refuge for their children. Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:26-27Fear the Lord is respecting the One who created the world and gives us air to breathe.  He IS our life.  When Dad and Mom are secure in the Lord, their children grow up feeling ever more safe and learn to love the Lord.  If you have ever seen a fountain with water over-flowing, or God-made spring of fresh water, you will say with David, my cup overflows.Respecting God and His Son, Jesus, shows in the words we choose to say, attitudes we share and the caring way we treat others. There is no way, we can be good enough for our God. That is why God sent Jesus to pay for our sin, and He forgives us when we love Him by living for and with Him.One of the ways to understand if we truly understand how God thinks, is by controlling our anger. A time of red hot anger destroys relationships with others, the ability to think rationally, and limits our access to God.  Anger is often fanned into flames by ‘Me-ism’.  It shows a selfishness that crowds out any thought of our Lord and trusting Him to guide us.A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body.  We all want to be healthy and spend much time finding the best foods and studying the best way to exercise.  Exercising patience with others and trusting God is large part of the blessing in living God’s Way.People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones. Proverbs 14:29-30
