May 12, 2016 – I John 3:7-8

_IJohn3-7-8-Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. I John 3:7-8Dear Children!  Just these words, Dear Children!  The love in these two words is astounding and travel through time.  Imagine, someone left these words of love written or spoken for us.  Though they may have left this earth long ago, they encourage us.When I was a child, I wondered if the I love you’s my grandparents and great-grandparents said crowded air waves and filled the clouds.  Can I hear those?   Could I read the vibrations in the clouds as written words?  My Mother’s written words, known by her grandchildren as Grandma Daisy, have become my words:  My faith holds me in God’s care.  I pray that I can remain faithful until it turns to sight on the ‘other side’. My prayer is that Papa and I may tell God, “Here are our children, our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren.  They all love and obey You.”Our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents  loved us so much.  Their words of love are real.  They want the best for us.  They give us the gift of loving of Jesus.  Hebrews 12:1-2a –Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…“With all this love surrounding us, with all the love going before us, how will we choose to live?  Are we the children of God or the children of the devil?  We cannot be both.So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.  I John 3:10
